Below are photos of Phase I TMD (TemporoMandibular Disorder) treatment with a daytime dental orthotic. This is just an example of how effective dental orhtotics can be in reducing head and neck pain. This patient presented with a loud pop in her right and left TMJ’s. For years, she suffered from neck pain, headaches, and sore jaws by the morning. After wearing her dental orthotic, the loud pop disappeared and her neck alignment improved! She reported that her head feels ‘straighter’ while wearing the dental orthotic. In the photos (see below), you will notice the significant improvement in her neck alignment when the orthotic is in place. Remarkably, the correction of her neck spine was observed within a mere 5 minutes of wearing her dental orthotic!

Before: No orthotic, deep overbite, unhealthy TMJ position, and poorly aligned neck spine

After: Orthotic in place, healthier TMJ position, and improved neck alignment (only 5 minutes elapsed from ‘Before’ Xray)
